First is good news. Since there is no a lot of bad reports about 3.1.5R2 version it will be Final version.
Now some bad news. I’m decide to finish my work on MPNG for 8bit controllers. There is no future in 8bit world. We continuously fighting with CPU performance. Main difference with original APM boards is I2C bus. All Multiwii boards uses I2C bus for sensors and it’s very slow. So fresh MPNG versions has performance issues on these boards. You know, we now have 32bit controller and we will continue work on it. Hope you understand, we cannot support old boards forever.
I would like to say thank you for all who support MPNG project until now (and future projects of course).
We upgraded our FlashTool to 1.1 (Special thanks to Maxim and Smurfy). Now it supports 32bit controllers and able to build firmware for it. So you not need Mission Planner or GCC compiler to fly on our F4By controller.
I’m glad to say you, we are finished work on MPNG 3.0.1 and released final release R4. Now we well focus our work on new 3.1 and start development for 32bit controller. Read more info about release below…
One guy reported strange problem with 3.0.1 release. He have RCT Crius V2 board and running it in PPM_SUM mode. When he hovering at ~40-50% of throttle, all seems ok, but if they increase throttle – board hang and copter drops from the sky.He can 100% reproduce this problem. We tried all possible solutions, but It still hang.
I’m tried all things to catch this bug, but my copter(and hexa) performs very well and I have no hangs. So,
I need some help in testing. Please, make it all safely! You do not need to fly, problem can be reproduced on table. Just make sure it will not fly. Arm copter and try to increase Throttle.
If you will encounter this problem, please report back with all possible information: Logs (from board and Planner), your hardware config, what you changed in firmware (PPM mode, and etc.)
